Listening to music
Sitting by the window, waiting
For your arrival
But you do not appear
Nights go by
With three person meals
Time goes by
Sitting by the window
Turns into pacing
Then tears soon spill
Filling the small tunnels
In the soft carpet below
The trees turn red and fall lifelessly
To the untouched ground
Where you used to walk
I find myself humming the song
You used to sing to me to bed
Before you left for a long vacation
You told me when I was young
I asked you if I could go
But you said no you would be back soon
So I waited
Hoping you wouldn’t forget about me
I waited way to long
The old clock downstairs chimes 2
Then 3 then 4
My eyelids are too heavy to notice
It chimes 5
I begged you to stay
But you told me you had to
So I let you go
Knowing I would see you some day
Now I’m older
And nothing has changed
Which is ok, I’ve learned to live without
You
Broken mirrors and soggy carpets
Can be fixed
But my heart can never be restored
